For a number of years I have been in a large amount of pain following a nasty fall down a rollator at a local shopping centre. My back, shoulders, arms, legs and neck were badly affected and I was also partially scalped. I also have had diabetes type 2 for many years plus all the joyful impediments of advancing age.
Well that has been my life for a number of years. However just recently I met a man who hopefully will change my life. My G.P. and the O.T. at my home support company (both lovely, caring people), have both recommended a chair which was delivered to me and set up for a trial. On my first contact I had given a few details – height, weight, etc. over the telephone. He wondered if the following day would be convenient to try out a Zero Gravity recliner. I agreed it would be fine.
Bruno rolled up with a van load of chairs. He brought in a chair, set it up and asked me to sit in it. From the first few moments I knew I didn’t need to try any other chairs. My arms were instantly relaxed along the chair arms – no height or length problems, just sheer bliss. The leather was so soft and extremely tactile. Bruno carefully controlled the chair movements with the remote and I felt my lower back being gently supported and with further magic fingers on the remote opened the foot support leaving me in a position where my feet were lifted to enable good and much improved blood circulation. My lower legs, ankles and feet tend to swell badly because of poor circulation caused by the diabetes. Over the next hour I literally watched the existing swelling diminish. I do not exaggerate. I could have fallen asleep being free of pain and a feeling of utter wellbeing.
The choice of materials, both fabric and leather, is wonderful. I decided on leather. I was able to choose from great swatches of every colour and shade, softness, sheen etc. and the chosen colour for my chair exactly matches my chesterfield suite and my decor in general in my lounge.
I’ll be 82 in May this year and although I had more or less given up any real hope of a quality life even if I were to be granted the privilege of a longer one, I feel so much better following use of this wonderful chair over the last few weeks that my intention is to try with all I’ve got to improve my health and my joy of life.
